His mother Krishna Beniwal, who some how managed to control her tears out of happiness said, “My son has given me every thing and I am the happiest mother on the earth. Even the Chief Minister of the state called up to congratulate us. He won’t stop here. I am confident he would bring gold medal from the Beijing.”
The villagers congratulated each other. His neighbour Rakesh, said, “We are very happy. When Vijendra was playing the match, everyone was saying maar Vijendra bhai maar, aaj maat chodna inko…., ”
While the whole village was celebrating Vijendra’s victory, his father was speechless. “I was praying in the temple for his success while he was playing the match,” he said.
